Acast launches Acast Amplifier in Ireland
We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2023 Acast Amplifier — our highly successful podcast incubator program — this time in Ireland. Acast Amplifier has been developed to discover and invest in the next generation of podcasters and will see three aspiring Irish creators produce and launch new podcasts and receive benefits worth a maximum of €100,000, including a €2,000 grant.
To be considered, budding podcasters based in the Republic of Ireland — and who don’t already have a published podcast — need to apply via an online application. Applicants should introduce themselves and their podcast idea alongside a 60-second audio statement explaining why the panel should pick their podcast for the Acast Amplifier incubator.
Acast and a panel of ambassadors — featuring fan-favorite podcasters from the Acast Creator Network alongside other industry experts — will judge the entries and choose three winning creators. Applications are open from today, March 30, and closing at 00:00 BST on April 21.
The judging panel includes Jane Gogan (producer of The Witness / The Stand), Finn Dwyer (Irish History Podcast), Kevin Twomey (I’m Grand Mam), Síle Seogie (Ready To Be Real), Louise McSharry (Catch Up With Louise McSharry), Adrian Carty (producer of Nothing Is Real) and Rosemary McCabe (Not Without My Sister)
Winning applicants will receive a €2,000 grant each to fund their show, a free lifetime subscription to Acast’s top hosting plan, and bespoke support and free equipment from Acast and its partners – including Shure and Focusrite. To cover all bases, from production to branding and monetization, winners will also receive mentoring from Acast.
Jennifer Dollard, Content Director, Acast Ireland, said: “Acast truly believes in the future of podcasting in Ireland, and we want to support the next generation of voices. Our Acast Amplifier program is the opportunity of a lifetime for a new podcast idea to get unparalleled support and advice from industry big-hitters, including mentorship from experts who’ve been there and done it. We want to provide podcast creators with everything they could need to get their ideas out into the world and, together with our panel of incredible talent, discover the next big podcast.”
Acast Amplifier is supported by Aclass Essentials, a free online resource to equip anyone who wants to start their podcast with the knowledge they need to produce meaningful, original audio content from home.
